People tend to associate the organic foods with nutrition. In fact, people tend to use the words organic and healthy interchangeably. This is a common misconception made by the majority of the population. Based on our research, we've found that the term "organic" has virtually nothing to do with the nutritional value of the food. According to stanly.org, "Organic refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed. Organic farming emphasizes the use of renewable resources and the conservation of soil and water to enhance environmental quality for future generation." In other words, the reason certain foods contain that organic label has nothing to do with how nutritious that food happens to be; it is all about how the food is produced. It does not matter if the food is organic fruits, vegetables, or even meats. The article goes on to say, "Organic produce is grown without using conventional pesticides, fertilizers made with synthetic ingredients or sewage sludge, bioengineering, or ionizing radiation. Livestock is not treated with antibiotics, growth hormones, or genetically modified organisms. Livestock must be kept in living conditions that accommodate natural behavior and must receive 100 percent organic feed." Like we said be for, a chip is still a chip; organic or not. When looking for nutrition, it is important to look at the nutrition information rather than the organic label.
